At the heart of our success is a student-opportunities model that has guided the District through three decades of explosive enrollment growth. With the support of parents and the community, leaders remain committed to creating small, personalized learning environments, as evidenced by our mission to know every student by name and need. This philosophy drives our day-to-day efforts to understand each child’s unique circumstances, his or her strengths and weaknesses and the role we must play to ensure each student reaches his or her full potential.
It is also reflected in the deliberate manner in which we build and configure our schools. Elementary schools serve 700-plus students in grades K-5, middle schools serve 800-1,000 students in grades 6-8 and high schools serve up to 2,100 students in grades 9-12. (New high schools open with fewer grade levels and add one grade level a year until they serve grades 9-12.)
Frisco ISD currently enrolls more than 65,000 students in 11 high schools, 17 middle schools, 42 elementary schools and 3 special programs schools. The 2018 bond program will provide funds to take the District through 72,000 students or the end of the 2025-26 school year.
FISD is located about 30 miles north of Dallas, Texas, and encompasses 75 square miles in Collin and Denton counties, including most of the City of Frisco and portions of neighboring Plano, McKinney and Little Elm
